Luke Tokaruk

Luke began riding at age 6 in his native Canada. Luke began showing in leadline classes and then showed successfully in the pony hunter and equitation divisions. Luke continued through the ranks at an early age and began showing jumpers as well.

Luke moved to the United States with the rest of his family in 1996 and lived and rode in Illinois for several years. When his family moved again to Tennessee, Luke earned several major championships across the region, and was the Zone 4 Childrens Jumper champion. At this time he also began riding and working with top trainer David Pellegrini and Spring Mill Farm in Memphis, TN.

Following a successful stint as a working student at Spring Mill, Luke enriched his equitation and jumper backgrounds by seeking out another working student, this time with nationally-renowned trainer Missy Clark and North Run. While at North Run, Luke rode, managed, groomed, and did just about everything a working student could do- gaining valuable experience and insight into the upper echelons of the horse show world. He also notched many wins at shows such as Lake Placid, Palm Beach, Vermont, Kentucky, and was equitation champion at Ox Ridge. Luke competed at all the major equitation finals and finished his junior career and headed to the University of Kentucky.

At the University of Kentucky, Luke balanced the demands of being a full time student with the desire to ride, train, and compete. Luke continued his association with North Run, now in a professional capacity. He managed, trained, and competed throughout the Northeast and in Florida whenever his school schedule allowed.

Luke graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Business Administration.
Luke joined with his brother Michael in the Spring of 2007 to form Tokaruk Show Stables, based in Aiken, South Carolina.
